The research project

1 - We will help clinicians decide which models/scores to use

We will use a survey πŸ“‹ to identify which models/scores are used and when.Β

A focussed literature review πŸ“š will summarise the key evidence for the most popular models/scores.

We will run a workshop πŸ—£οΈ with anaesthetists, surgeons, intensivists and patients to:

We will statistically validate πŸ“ˆ the shortlisted models/scores to identify which patients they work best for, and for which patients they should be avoided.

We will present our findings 🌟 on this website, and via scientific presentations and publications to give clinicians the information they need to make the best decisions for their patients.

2 - We will help ensure future models/scores help patients

We will interview πŸŽ™οΈ perioperative clinicians (including anaesthetists, surgeons and intensivists) to understand:

We will create an NHS perioperative care dataset πŸ’» which conforms to current best practices.Β

We will summarise the results of all of our research and work with respected experts in clinical medicine and predictive modelling to produce practical guidance πŸ‘πŸ» for developers and evaluators of future predictive models.
